The MS Seaventure is an expedition ship designed specifically for voyages to Antarctica. With a maximum of around 139 guests on board, she offers a personal atmosphere while providing the comfort needed for extended journeys in the remote regions of the southern continent. Thanks to her 1-A Super ice class – the highest ice-class rating for passenger ships – the Seaventure can navigate demanding ice conditions and reach areas that remain inaccessible to many other vessels. A wrap-around observation deck, large panoramic windows and outside cabins ensure that the Antarctic landscape is always within view. On board, guests will also find comfortable lounges, a library, a fitness area and a sauna. All cabins feature an outside view and a seating area, offering a pleasant retreat after days spent exploring Antarctica.

Special features

MS Seaventure
Heated Saltwater Pool

One of the pleasant extras on board the MS Seaventure is the heated saltwater pool on the sun deck. After a day of Zodiac excursions, shore landings and hikes in Antarctica, it offers a welcome place to warm up and relax. The pool is filled with seawater and kept heated, allowing it to be used even in the cool conditions of the polar regions. Together with the sauna and fitness area, it forms a small wellness space on board that is especially appreciated after active expedition days. While expedition ships are primarily designed for nature exploration, the pool provides a comfortable moment of relaxation between outings – a feature that not every vessel of this size offers.

MS Seaventure
Citizen Science Laboratory

On board the MS Seaventure, there is a dedicated Citizen Science Laboratory, forming an integral part of the expedition experience. This special science centre gives guests the opportunity to go far beyond standard lectures and actively contribute to real research projects. As part of the Citizen Science programme, passengers work alongside the expedition team to collect, observe and analyse data that supports ongoing scientific studies in the polar regions. Projects vary by destination and season but typically include observations of cloud patterns, seabirds, or oceanic microorganisms, all of which provide valuable long-term data for understanding Arctic and Antarctic ecosystems. No prior scientific experience is required: guests are guided through the methods and shown how to contribute to important data sets. This transforms the expedition into an active, educational and meaningful experience, allowing participants to engage directly in current environmental research rather than just observe it.

MS Seaventure
360° Observation Deck

At the very top of the MS Seaventure, near the helicopter landing pad, is the 360° Observation Deck. From this wrap-around outdoor deck, guests can walk all the way around the ship, with few obstacles obstructing the view. It is an ideal spot to observe icebergs, glaciers, and passing wildlife in every direction, perfect for photography or simply taking in the scenery. For those who prefer some shelter from wind or weather, the Panorama Lounge on the deck below, near the sun deck, offers large panoramic windows with excellent views of the icy landscapes while allowing guests to relax comfortably indoors. A highlight for anyone looking to experience the polar regions actively, whether outside in the fresh air or protected in the lounge.
