Reindeer Farm & Ice Fishing
Husky Tours Aurora Borealis Pikku Syote Activity
2~20 Persons Average Fitness Age 4+
Spend 6.5 hours immersing yourself in Finnish traditions and enjoy a special day with reindeer and ice fishing, including lunch in the wilderness. You’ll visit a family-run reindeer farm, where the seventh-generation farmer will welcome you personally and guide you through the history of reindeer herding – an ancient way of life closely linked to the culture of the Sámi, Europe’s only indigenous people. You’ll have the chance to feed the reindeer and visit a small house museum that offers fascinating insights into Finnish culture. By the fire, you’ll enjoy hot drinks and a light snack while your host shares stories about life with the animals. Afterwards, you’ll experience the meditative tranquillity of ice fishing in the unspoilt landscape of Syöte: with expert guidance, you’ll drill your hole in the ice, lower your line and wait patiently. The journey from the hotel takes about 20 minutes by car.
