Far away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, you will find a magic winter wonderland in the middle of untouched nature and, with a little luck, see the Northern Lights in the night sky. The varied program lets you discover the beauty of the north from different perspectives. You will also get to know local traditions as well as the culture of the Sámi people. Exciting encounters with people and animals make this trip complete and will remain in your memory for a long time. The travel package includes the best that the far north has to offer and takes you to a new, unknown world full of Nordic beauty.

Winter Magic Norway: The Best of the North - the itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
You will be met at Tromsø Airport or city centre and transferred to your accommodation. Here you will have time to get settled in at your leisure and move into your comfortable twin room. In the evening, you will end this first day with a hearty dinner.

Day 2: Out and about on a snowmobile
While starting the day with a tasty breakfast, you can already look forward to the unforgettable experiences that lie ahead. Today, you will be taken by bus in 10 - 15 minutes to a private wilderness area, where you can try your hand at snowmobiling. Before you set off, you will first learn the basics. Then, you will drive in pairs (driver and passenger) along prepared trails and across open, flat terrain for 45 - 60 minutes, swapping places halfway through the tour. After about 2.5 hours, you will return to your accommodation. This is the perfect time to make yourself comfortable! You will end this eventful day with a delicious dinner.

Day 3: On snowshoes into the nature and Northern Lights observation
After breakfast, a new adventure awaits you in the middle of Norwegian nature. In a traditional and original way, you will walk through the wilderness on snowshoes. You will not only experience the peace and quiet of the activity, but you will also learn exciting facts from your guide. Listen to stories about life in harmony with nature and get to know more about survival in the wilderness. You will hike for about 3.5 hours through the varied landscapes of Norway – an activity through which you can let go off any stress. During your excursion, you will warm up with a light snack before heading back. In the evening after dinner, another very special excursion is on your schedule. With a little luck, you will be able to marvel at the mystical Northern Lights. At Camp Nikka, you can make yourself comfortable by the fire. Here, you will also be at an ideal observation point with the best chances of seeing this famous natural spectacle. In a cosy lavvu tent, you will enjoy a light snack with coffee or tea while waiting for the magical auroras to appear. The trip lasts about 4 hours.

Day 4: Dog sledding tour to remember
On this day you can look forward to a unforgettable experience. After breakfast, you will make your way to a husky farm where you will already be awaited with a lot of anticipation. This husky farm is very special, because the dogs are not chained up and live in pairs in pens. You will feel the energy and enthusiasm of the huskies immediately. After a briefing and safety instructions, you will step on the dog sled yourself (2 persons per sled). Your husky team will pull you into the wilderness of Norway while showing you the beautiful nature from a new perspective. Enjoy the tranquillity and gorgeous views that pass you by. After about 2.5 hours, you will return to the hotel and use the remaining time to relax. During the dinner, you can look back at all the highlights of this adventure-packed day.

Day 5: In the world of the Sámi and reindeer
Fortify yourself with breakfast and get ready to immerse yourself in the world of the Sami. A 20-minute walk takes you to the wilderness camp and the reindeer that are waiting for you there. While you feed them, your guide will give you interesting insights into the special relationship between Sami and reindeer and the traditions of reindeer herding. You then continue to a lavvu, a traditional Sami herders' tent. Gather around the fire, listen to exciting stories and see unique Sami artifacts. Your guide will be happy to show you the art of lasso throwing. As a highlight of this excursion, you can taste a traditional Sami dish prepared over the open fire.

Day 6: Free day
After breakfast, the rest of the day is yours to spend as you wish. You can arrange your stay according to your own wishes and ideas. Whether you are looking for relaxation or action – there is something for everyone here. You can either book additional activities or explore the surroundings on your own. Or how about a visit to the sauna or a relaxing soak in the hot tub? Both can be booked for an additional charge, either on-site or through us.

Day 7: Traditional cross-country skiing excursion
You start the day with a hearty breakfast. Following the local traditions, you will be on cross-country skis today and experience the winter wonderland in northern Norway for the last time during your trip. After a short introduction, you will be skiing with your guide over prepared tracks through the forest and past fantastic views. With a little more experience, you also have the opportunity to make your own tracks through the snow. During a break, you will warm up and gain new strength with a sweet snack and hot drinks. After about 2 hours, you will return to your accommodation. In the evening, a delicious dinner awaits you.

Day 8: Departure
After a final breakfast you will embark on your journey home. Your transfer service will take you back to Tromsø Airport or city centre. You will take home countless memories and unique experiences. The tour services start with dinner on the first day and end with breakfast on day 8.

The accommodation:
Accommodation is in the beautiful Malangen Resort, located in the middle of the Norwegian Fjords near Tromsø and featuring gorgeous views. This is your ideal starting point for unforgettable nature excursions and a cosy retreat for relaxation. Each room comes with a breathtaking view and modern furnishings. In addition, you will find a twin bed, private bathroom and coffee/tea maker. Within the hotel, you will also find a sauna with a large glass front, as well as two outdoor hot tubs (both for an extra charge). Please note that wearing a swimsuit is mandatory in the spa area.

Children are not allowed to lead their own snowmobile or dog sled team and have to ride with the guide or a parent instead. On the husky tour, a parent must accompany the child on the sled. To drive a snowmobile, you must be 18+ years old and have a valid driver's license.

Different conditions 24.12.2026 - 03.01.2027 & 06.02.2027 - 20.02.2027:
Due to hotel policy, 100% cancellation fees apply over Christmas, New Year’s Eve and parts of February after confirmed booking. In addition, bookings during this period are non-amendable. For this reason, we recommend that clients take out insurance in this case. If the participant does not wish to (or cannot) take part in what is booked - no refund is granted. Additionally, further costs may arise if cancellation occurs before the final payment is made.

Note regarding the Sami and reindeer experience:
This activity involves close collaboration with Sami reindeer herders. However, we cannot guarantee that the storyteller will be Sami or will be wearing traditional Sami clothing.
