Mountain Expedition with Dogsleds: Tour Itinerary
Day 1:
The first night of the tour will be spent at our log cabin in Kåskats on the Arctic Circle where you will meet your experienced guide, the rest of your tour group and your very excited huskies! Your guide will brief you on the route of the tour, and all kit and equipment checks will take place.
The next morning you will be driven by car to our start location in the mountains to begin our awesome adventure.
Day 2-9: Your amazing Mountain Expedition with Dogsleds begins
During the next 8 days we will venture between 20 and 40km each day (weather permitting) through beautiful landscapes and deserted wilderness. You may be lucky enough to see reindeer or other animals in their natural habitat. Our actual route may vary depending on snowfall and other external factors.
Accommodation will be in a traditional tipitent, although we may also stay in a basic wilderness cabin in order to thoroughly dry out our kit.
Day 10: Return
At the climax of our mountain expedition we will return to our starting point to enjoy a well deserved hot shower and cosy heated wooden sauna. Your tour group will also gather together to enjoy a hot meal and share your highlights of the trip.
After a final breakfast your program with us ends and you will journey home, taking with you some amazing memories of your time husky sledding in Sweden.
Participants: 2 to 4
Accommodation: During the tour accommodation will be in outdoor tents, and we will need to dig our own latrines in the snow. Teamwork is a feature of this husky tour and every participant will be expected to join in with the day to day tasks such as fetching wood and water, and of course taking care of your four-legged friends!
Travel: Fly to Stockholm, and then take the comfortable night train to Murjek, before transferring to Kåskats. Alternatively take a flight to Kallax airport in Luleå, then the connecting bus to Kåskats.
Important informations: Thanks to the ever changing landscapes provided by Mother Nature, no tours are identical. The sights and sounds you will experience will create new and lasting memories of your time husky sledding. Don’t miss out; book your trip of a lifetime today!
