This trip is the perfect little escape from everyday life for anyone traveling to Lapland for the first time or who has already fallen in love with the far north. The combination of the comfort of a modern hotel with sauna and spa with the rugged winter wilderness of Finland is unique.

Husky Adventure in Finland: Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
After your arrival at the airport, you will be taken to the hotel, which will particularly impress you with its beautiful location in the middle of Lapland's snow covered nature. End the first day with the nice view from your hotel, keep your eyes open for the Northern Lights and look forward to your dog sledding adventure.

Day 2: Ice Fishing on a lake
Today after breakfast, you will start your holiday in true traditional style and try your hand at ice fishing, a popular local activity. You will head to a lake and search for the best spots for fishing. To ensure you're well prepared, your guide will demonstrate various techniques and help you find a good place to drill a hole in the ice. Freshly brewed coffee and snacks will be provided to keep you warm. After approx. 3 hours, you will return to the hotel, where you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure. In the evening, be sure to check the forecast. Perhaps the conditions will be particularly good for seeing the Northern Lights?

Day 3: On a dog sled through Lapland
Fortify yourself for an eventful day with a hearty breakfast. You ride to a nearby husky farm, where the dogs greet you full of anticipation and can hardly wait to set off into the wilderness with you. You will receive an introduction to dog sledding and then get on the runners of your sled in pairs. The tour takes you approx. 12 km through snow-covered forests and over frozen lakes through the Finnish countryside. There will be breaks along the way so that you can change drivers and take photos. After returning to the husky farm, you will listen to stories of the huskies' lives over coffe and freshly baked buns before enjoy a relaxing end to the day back at the hotel (total duration incl. transfer: 2 - 2.5 h).


Day 4: Your personal adventure in the far north
After a delicious breakfast, you can start the day as you wish! Book another activity of your choice (see “Extras”), go downhill skiing or snowboarding in the ski area or explore the surroundings on your own. The Arctic Spa invites you to discover the various saunas and pools so that you can end the day feeling relaxed and refreshed. In the evening, it's worth taking a few steps into the darkness. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to experience the Northern Lights up close.

Day 5: Departure
After a final rich breakfast, you return to the airport in Rovaniemi, Oulu or Kuusamo. You will have many indescribable memories of your dog sledding adventure in Finnish Lapland in your luggage.

Accommodation during your husky adventure:
Included for this trip is the accommodation in a Reindeer Room (standard double room), with panoramic windows and views of the pristine forests surrounding the mountains of Iso-Syöte. The rooms are modern, comfortable and have two separate beds, bathroom, TV , Wi-Fi and electric kettle. There is also room for an extra bed if required. Room upgrades to unique, incomparable suites are available on request (see “Extras”). The hotel facilities include a cafe and a restaurant with à la carte service and buffet of Finnish and Lappish cuisine. Access to the Arctic Spa with pool, traditional Finnish sauna, steam sauna and hot tub is included. Spa treatments can be booked for an additional fee.

Catering:
This tour includes breakfast. Half board can be booked in addition. At lunchtime you can eat in the cafe of the hotel or in a small ski restaurant at the foot of the mountain. There is also a small mini-market with a limited selection of groceries. Coffee and snacks are provided during the included activities.
